In order to encourage more young voters to take part in the political process of world’s the largest democracy Govt. of India , has decided to celebrate January 25 every year as 'National Voters' Day' of India. The National Voter’s Day started it’s journey of success from January 25th 2011 to mark the Election Commission’s foundation day that on this particular day the father of India Constitution Dr. B. R. Ambedkar gifted this to the people of India as the “ELECTION COMMISSION OF INDIA”.The commission is completely dedicated to have a free,fair and credible election to strengthen the democracy and vowed to wipe out the illegitimate and unfair means of Election from that day of 25th January.
A meeting of the central cabinet chaired by the than Prime Minister Dr. ManmohanSingh with the approval of Law Ministry decided to observe this day of 25th January every Year as the India’s “ NATIONAL VOTER’S DAY.
After a long observation since the process of Election initiated in India , it came to the lime light that voters having the age of 18 year to 22 year were showing low interest in getting enrolled in the electoral role. In order to effectively deal with this problem the ELECTION COMMISSION OF INDIA decided to take up various social exercises to attract and convince them to make these section of voters wish to include their names in the electoral roll .
Such eligible voters should be enrolled on and must be handed over their Electoral Photo Identity Card (EPIC) on January 25 every year,No doubt this noble initiative will enhance a sense of empowerment and pride among Indian youth and will inspire them to exercise their right to vote in the right way to boost the power of Indian democracy.

On this occasion, every year the “ELECTION COMMISSION OF INDIA “ observe this day with people of India involving all the Election commission’s officials from booth level to national level and new voters are provided with a badges with it’s logo “Proud to be a voter-Ready to Vote.
